Dr. Jessica Rae Burgy is a Board-Certified Dermatologist, clinical research pioneer, and science-backed skincare expert, specializing in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. She is the owner & CEO of Columbia Dermatology & Aesthetics, serving Columbia, SC and surrounding areas.
The Passion Behind the Practice
Jessica Burgy, MD, has always felt a profound connection to the field of medicine. A native West Virginian, she earned her undergraduate degree from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. She received her medical degree from Marshall University's School of Medicine, graduating with the distinction of Alpha Omega Alpha. She then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Marshall University before completing her Residency in Dermatology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. Dr. Burgy is a member of the American Board of Dermatology.
She found Dermatology to be the perfect specialty to encompass all of her interests, combining aspects of rheumatology, allergy, oncology, and infectious disease. Every day is different, and she loves the variety - "Life is never boring!" And because she sees everyone from infants to the elderly, she has the ability to develop long term relationships with her patients and their families, which is her true passion.
When Dr. Burgy isn't caring for her patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe, her son, Emerson, and her daughter, Madeline.
